On February 16, 2026, Prof. Dr. Hab. Jan Żylicz passed away — a legendary personality in Polish nuclear physics. He was a Master to many generations of scientists working in institutes around the world, including the Heavy Ion Laboratory. He was one of those Newtonian giants on whose shoulders we stand. Requiescat in pace.

On 9^th of February 2026, Prof. Wojciech Nawrocik, passed away. He was a member of the SLCJ Council, a mentor to many Laboratory staff members, and simply our Friend. He will be deeply missed.
