We regret to inform you that the 17th edition of the National Workshop on Acceleration and Application of Heavy Ions must be canceled. This is due to the unexpected decision of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science not to financially support the work of our cyclotron in 2022. Unfortunately, the financial cuts also affected other large research infrastructures in Poland. In August, we called for a change to this decision, recalling our obligations towards the Polish and European scientific community. Suspending the operation of our accelerator puts our users in a difficult situation when implementing their grants with us, and prevents us from meeting the expectations of our foreign partners who have provided us with unique detection tools. XVII Ogólnopolskie Warsztaty Akceleracji i Zastosowań Ciężkich Jonów

Z przykrością informujemy, że XVII edycja Ogólnopolskich Warsztatów Akceleracji i Zastosowań Ciężkich Jonów musi zostać odwołana. Spowodowane jest to nieoczekiwaną decyzją polskiego Ministerstwa Edukacji i Nauki o niewspieraniu finansowo pracy naszego cyklotronu w 2022 roku. Niestety, cięcia finansowe dotknęły także innych dużych infrastruktur badawczych w Polsce. Zaapelowaliśmy jeszcze w sierpniu o zmianę tej decyzji przywołując nasz zobowiązania względem polskiego i europejskiego środowiska naukowego. Wstrzymanie pracy naszego akceleratora stawia w trudnej sytuacji naszych użytkowników realizujących u nas swoje granty, jak i uniemożliwia nam spełnienia oczekiwań naszych zagranicznych partnerów, którzy udostępnili nam unikalne narzędzia detekcyjne. Ponieważ jeszcze nie otrzymaliśmy odpowiedzi na naszą prośbę nie jesteśmy już w stanie przygotować cyklotronu do pracy na czas Warsztatów ze względu na brak środków finansowych. Jednocześnie informujemy, że dla studentów UW zapisanych w USOS na Warsztaty odbędą się, ale niestety w okrojonej formie z wyżej wymienionych przyczyn. Mamy nadzieję, że nasze Warsztaty zostaną wznowione w przyszłym roku....

Delay of the HIL experimental campaign

We regret to inform you that the experimental campaign planned for this year in Autumn at HIL has to be delayed at least till the beginning of November 2022. This is caused by the unexpected decision of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science to not support financially the operation of our cyclotron in 2022 (we would like to inform that financial cuts affect also other big research infrastructures in Poland). We appealed to change this decision and currently we are waiting for the response from the Ministry. We will keep you inform about any news regarding the HIL beam-time schedule. The next announcement will be made by the middle of October....
