Access procedures
The Accelerator Laboratory operates an online system to facilitate user registration and visiting processes. In the first stage, prospective users should go through the registration process in order to obtain University of Jyväskylä (JYU) credentials. Once registered, the user can then use the online system to request and register future visits to the facility.
- User registration process
When planning to visit the Accelerator Laboratory, first the registration as a user of the facility should be performed. The user’s local contact within the Accelerator Laboratory can arrange for an invite link to be sent to the user. The registration process requires that the Home Institute Declaration (see the attachment in the section “User Registration and Visiting Procedure”) be filled in and signed by an authorised person from the user’s institute or employer. When visiting the Accelerator Laboratory for the first time after initiating the registration process, the user will be required to visit the office in the Department of Physics and present identity documents to complete the process. Once registered, the user will receive the JYU credentials which can be used in future to request and register visits to the facility.
- Request to visit procedure
Once registered as a user and granted JYU credentials, the user will be able to log into the online system to request and register a visit in advance of the arrival. The online visit forms include questions concerning the need to access the restricted areas, dosimeters, and internet access.
After logging in at vasara.app.jyu.fi, using the JYU credentials, one should click “Processes” and then next to “Visit to JYU -request a visit (as a registered user)” – “CREATE NEW”. Then it will be asked to check that the user’s details in the system are still correct and then to request a visit to the facility.
Visitors coming for short term work at the accelerator laboratory are kindly asked to follow safety practices. Details are reported in the section “Safety in laboratory”.
