Access procedures

To arrange access to the ALTO facility as an experiment participant it is crucial to send the following procedure at least two weeks before your visit. If these steps are not followed access will not be possible.

1. Download the required forms here alto-users-forms.

If you want to access the ALTO control room and data acquisition area only:

2. Fill in the badge request form (109 access only), read the safety memento.

3. Send the badge request form to altoaccess(at)ijclab.in2p3.fr . You will receive a confirmation email.

4. If you wish to reserve a room in the ALTO Guest House please book a room here.

If you wish to access the ALTO control room,data acquisition area and a controlled area (rotonde access):

2. Fill in the badge request form (109 access and 109 rotonde access) and read the safety memento.

3. Follow the ALTO radiation protection training and complete the associated quiz. (Validity of training: 3 years).

Send these forms to altoaccess(at)ijclab.in2p3.fr along with:

a valid medical certificate no older than 2 years from the date of your visit;

and a photo of the passive dosimeter provided by your employer as well as its period of validity. The passive dosimeter is mandatory for entering the controlled area of the ALTO platform. In French regulations, it is up to the employer to provide the passive dosimeter, IJCLab will not provide a passive dosimeter.

You will receive a confirmation email.
